It’s a busy day for Ariana Mount, Communications Manager at The Event Company. As the Communications Manager, it’s her job to lead all social media, public relations, media relations + internal/external communications for The Event Company + its clients. No two days are ever the same! Here’s a peek into a busy + exciting day in the life.

7:30AM

My alarm goes off + I immediately spring out of bed snooze it + go back to sleep. After another 10 minutes, I decide it’s time to get up + get ready for the day. It’s going to be a fun one! I recently moved to Virginia + transitioned to remotely working for The Event Company. Today, however, I’m in Sioux Falls for some important projects. More on that later.

7:45AM

I can’t function without caffeine, (especially after a long travel day), so I head down to the hotel lobby to grab some coffee to drink while I get ready.

8:30AM

I meet my Lyft driver outside + he drops me off at The Event Company office in downtown Sioux Falls. Kali Trautman, Director of Event Operations, has the office to herself. (Our normal office hours are 9AM to 5PM). We gather our things + walk across the street to one of our local TV stations, Dakota News Now, to meet some clients for an interview about their upcoming webinar.

9:10AM

I quickly prep the interviewees, introduce them to the staff at the news station, help them clip on their microphones + show them where they need to be for their live interview on the morning show.

After the interview wrapped, Kali + I said goodbye to our clients (who crushed their interview) + ran back to the office to grab some supplies for our next stop. Any guesses why we’d need a velvet green curtain, a bucket, three bottles of champagne + printout of an old event script?

9:45AM

Did you guess photoshoot? We arrived at Whitespace Studios in Sioux Falls + meet some our team who was there setting up for the shoot. Addie Graham-Kramer, Founder + CEO of The Event Company, was in the middle of getting her hair + makeup done for the photos. At the time of the shoot, the reason for the photos was top secret, but we have since revealed the project. The Event Company is launching a podcast called Uncorked + Unscripted. This podcast + video series will be hosted by Addie + this photoshoot is a branding session for promotional pieces. Our creative team spent months to prep for this shoot, so it’s a really exciting day to see our vision come to life before our eyes with the help of our photographer, Maddie Peschong.

3:45PM

The photoshoot wrapped after many hours + I came back to the office to start prepping for my next project. Kendra DeBoer, Happiness Coordinator at The Event Company, had already started gathering materials for our live interview on Dakota News Now the next morning talk about St. Patrick’s Day. We picked out a cocktail we wanted to show the viewers + decided on a cucumber martini, which we named the Shamrock Shaker! It took us a few tries to cut the cucumber garnish into the four-leaf clover garnish we found on Pinterest, but Kendra finally got it + we felt ready for the big interview the next day!

4:30PM

I did manage to find a bit of time to sit stand at my desk + knock out some computer work before the work day ended.

5:15PM

Kendra + I headed over to Tea, South Dakota for a fun ribbon-cutting event for our vendor friends, Pinnacle Productions. We met our co-worker, Alli Tschetter, there to get a tour of Pinnacle’s new space + enjoy some bites + drinks. We saw so many of our clients there, we played in front of a cool green screen in their studio, snapped some pictures in the photo booth + the three of us spent some time catching up, since I hadn’t seen them in over a month!

Alli dropped me off at my hotel + I relaxed + got ready for bed so I could be up bright + early for my TV interview the next morning!
